Fungai Guta (she/her) is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC-IRB) at Landings LLP. Fungai has developed a particular expertise assisting clients who are seeking to come to Canada on a temporary basis as well as those seeking permanent residence or citizenship. She also represents clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Fungai is committed to providing client-centred representation and works closely with individuals and families to ensure they are informed and supported throughout the immigration process.
Fungai joined Landings LLP as a law clerk in 2021 after graduating with honours from the Community Worker program at George Brown College. As part of her training, she completed a placement at the FCJ Refugee Centre, where she worked with the settlement team and women’s program supporting clients in accessing social assistance and housing resources. She subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law at Queen’s University, graduating with a straight A average, before obtaining her RCIC-IRB licence.
Fungai also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, with a minor in Psychology, from York University. She has completed foundational coursework in Expressive Arts Therapy and has volunteered with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and Workman Arts, facilitating theatre and improv programming for youth and outpatient communities. This background informs her practice and enhances her ability to approach complex matters with empathy, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills.
